Mr. and Mrs. Vicente (middle) were one of six couples who exchanged vows during the mass wedding organized by CARD MBA on May 7, 2026.
On May 7, 2026, CARD Mutual Benefit Association (CARD MBA), the insurance arm of CARD Mutually Reinforcing Institutions (CARD MRI), in collaboration with CARD SME Bank, a thrift bank under CARD MRI, hosted a wedding ceremony for six couples at Calamba City Hall in Calamba City, Laguna. Bishop Augusto S. Flores Jr. officiated the event.
The mass wedding is one of CARD MBA’s initiatives aimed at helping legitimize couples’ unions, allowing their partners and families to gain broader access to CARD MBA’s benefits, insurance coverage, and assistance.
“We are always anchored on the needs of our members. By giving them the opportunity to legalize their unions, we gave them access to benefits only offered to married couples. At CARD MBA, we prioritize extending coverage beyond our members by also covering their families, ensuring that they are safeguarded during times of emergencies,” CARD MBA CEO Ms. Joy Dequito stated.
This non-financial service of the CARD MBA began in 2002. As of 2026, 1,473 couples were assisted by this program. To qualify, they must be active CARD members for at least seven months, and both individuals must be legally single.
CARD MBA began operations in 1999 to assist its members through death benefits, medical subsidies, pension support, and loan redemption packages. With 95 provincial offices nationwide, the association continues to expand while staying committed to increasing its membership.
As of March 2026, CARD MBA had a total of 8,405,400 members, including 25,295,626 insured individuals. To learn more about CARD MBA, visit its official website at https://cardmba.com/ or its Facebook page at https://web.facebook.com/CARDMBAOfficial/.
