CARD SME Bank President and CEO Aristeo A. Dequito explained that the expansion is part of CARD MRI\u2019s \u201c5-8- 40\u201d strategy &#8211; an aim to reach eight million Filipinos nationwide and insure at least 40 million individuals in five years. \u201cThrough this [expansion], we will be able to help the \u2018graduating microentrepreneurs\u2019 of CARD financial institutions in becoming small and medium enterprises (SMEs) by providing a platform for the clients whose businesses are growing and then bring them to the next level of banking service,\u201d he added. The strategic objective of the bank is to offer different savings and loans designed to meet the needs of different members and clients. These include a working capital or investment loan, with loan amounts ranging from 10,000 to 5 million pesos.
