Eight months after achieving one million registered users, konek2CARD, CARD MRI\u2019s mobile banking application, reached another milestone as it hit two million registered users. The celebration was broadcasted on Facebook on March 4, 2022.<\/p>\r\n

\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n

Starting from the kick-off of konek2CARD\u2019s campaign on February 8, 2021, the application saw huge leaps indicating its growth. As of March 2, 2022, the konek2CARD team logged 2,069,905 registered users, increasing as much as 285% within one year.<\/p>\r\n

\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n

Contributing to the increase of users are konek2CARD agents, who are also clients of CARD, Inc. (A Microfinance NGO), CARD Bank, CARD SME Bank, and CARD MRI RIZAL BANK (CARD RBI). They are accredited by CARD MRI to facilitate financial transactions within their communities. Also seeing a spike in numbers within the year, the agents went from 8,140 to 17,958, equating to a 121% increase.<\/p>\r\n

Devotion to Mission<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

As CARD MRI steps up to strengthen its devotion to its clients and staff, CARD MRI Managing Director Aristeo A. Dequito dedicated the achievement to the whole CARD MRI community, from its clients to those at the forefront of the operations.<\/p>\r\n

\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n

Dequito also highlighted CARD MRI\u2019s social responsibility of supporting the local government\u2019s initiatives especially for the Filipino poor. \u201cDigital services, such as konek2CARD, are CARD MRI\u2019s commitment to our clients. This is in line and in support of the mission of the government to pursue financial inclusion in the country,\u201d Dequito said.<\/p>\r\n

\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n

Leaders of CARD MRI\u2019s microfinance institutions (MFIs) also sent their messages in line with the celebration. CARD, Inc. Executive Director Vicente P. Briones Jr., CARD Bank President Marivic M. Austria, CARD SME Bank Executive Vice President Julius Adrian R. Alip, and CARD RBI President Elma B. Valenzuela treated its clients with short messages, aimed to inspire both staff and clients.<\/p>\r\n

\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n

The program also continued with games and prizes for the viewers. An awarding ceremony was also held, recognizing the two millionth registered user. Hailing from Iloilo, Ms. Hyacinth P. Hinorado of CARD Bank received a certificate as the milestone registered user and PHP 5,000.00 transferred via konek2CARD.<\/p>\r\n

To round out the journey of reaching two million registered users, konek2CARD gathered representatives from konek2CARD\u2019s key players through koneKwentuhan, one of the celebration\u2019s highlights. konek2CARD Champion and Head of Committee Cynthia B. Baldeo was joined by konek2CARD\u2019s AVP for Operations Juanito Dela Cueva to share their konek2CARD journey. On the users\u2019 end, joining them is konek2CARD agent and a client for 10 years Evangelyn Alaras, as well as konek2CARD registered user and a client for 15 years Thess Alcantara.<\/p>\r\n

\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n

In this segment, Alaras shared her experience as a konek2CARD agent. \u201cAccommodating almost 600 clients a week as an agent, the thing that I like the most about konek2CARD is assisting my co-members with their financial transactions, which saves them a lot of time since they have other things to attend to. Being a konek2CARD agent also serves as an additional income for our family,\u201d Alaras said.<\/p>\r\n

\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n

Alcantara also shared her experience with the mobile banking application. \u201cEffort, expense, time. These are the things I consider when it comes to my financial transactions, and konek2CARD addresses those three. With the application, I don\u2019t have to go to the bank, less expense. It is easy to use, and I can use it anytime. So, it made my transactions hassle-free,\u201d Alcantara shared.<\/p>\r\n

konek2CARD Plus<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

During her turn, Baldeo teased the viewers of what\u2019s next for the application. \u201cVery soon, our clients will get to know our improved version of konek2CARD, the konek2CARD Plus. Why Plus? Because with its features, clients will have a \u2018plus\u2019 easier and \u2018plus\u2019 better experience with this new application.\u201d<\/p>\r\n

\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n

konek2CARD Plus will feature several improvements such as becoming the single application for all clients of CARD MRI. Further, the new application is also an icon-based interface which makes navigating easier. It also has improved security features that ensure the safety of the clients\u2019 information. \u201cOur only aim with konek2CARD Plus is to provide a better quality of service for our clients,\u201d Dela Cueva added as he mentioned the reason behind the development of the application\u2019s new features for the CARD MRI clients.<\/p>\r\n

\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n

Moreover, CARD MRI Founder and Chairman Emeritus Dr. Jaime Aristotle B. Alip also delivered a live message during his field visit in Gloria, Occidental Mindoro. Through the first-hand experiences of the clients and konek2CARD agents beside him, Dr. Alip highlighted the impact of realizing financial inclusion through the application.<\/p>\r\n

\u201cWe continue to passionately pursue greater heights for our digital initiatives because of our devotion to better the lives of the Filipino people and to ultimately end poverty in the country,\u201d Dr. Alip concluded.<\/p>\r\n

With this milestone, konek2CARD and CARD MRI aims to reach 3 million registered by the end of 2022.<\/p>\r\n
